Fishing Outing with the Eagles and Giraffes
On Monday, the Eagles and Giraffes enjoyed a warm and sunny afternoon fishing at the Réservoir Fédéral De Chênex. The students learned all about the lifecycle of trout while trying their hand at fishing. After first watching how maggots are attached to the hooks, the students were able to cast their lines to make a catch. Most students were able to catch at least one trout and Etan even caught a crayfish! After reeling in their catch and examining the trout, all fish were released back into the reservoir. Students learned that some of the fish would not survive being caught and released but they would remain a part of the lifecycle by becoming food for the living trout.
