Learning to Behave with Dogs
This week, volunteers from the association “Les Crocs au Positif” came to both Pre de Challes and Pre Faucon to instruct the CP and Grande Section classes on how to correctly behave around dogs. The goal of the workshop was to increase the students’ awareness of their behavior with dogs so as to prevent behaviors that increase the likelihood of a child being bitten. Some things that students learned include: leave dogs alone when they are in their bed, do not pull on dogs’ ears, always ask for permission before petting a dog, and always let the dog come to them so as not to startle it. After learning the various techniques, each student had a turn to practice asking permission and petting the dog correctly.
