Prehistoric Art
Prehistoric Art in 6ème

The students have been very busy exploring Prehistoric Art during the art classes on a Wednesday.
They have produced eye-catching compositions, employing different techniques and experimenting
with “papier craft” to recreate a rock painting. Inspiration has been drawn from prehistoric art sites from
France, Spain, Australia and South Africa. Students have had the opportunity to discover images that
were painted 17000 years ago using natural pigments in ochre and charcoal. The student’s final artworks provide
a visual feast for the eyes, transporting us back thousands of years to a time when mammoths once roamed the hills.
