Christian Jarlov

Trésorier et directeur du collège
Teaching in French international schools allowed Christian Jarlov to travel the world: America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. In Zimbabwe, he and his wife Sylvie founded the first French school in the capital Harare, from preschool to middle school, under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After a short stay in the Middle East, he returned to Africa, working for the Ministry of French Cooperation in Senegal.
In Dakar, he founded Senegal’s first children’s newspaper and worked for over ten years as a journalist and advisor for Bayard-Presse while continuing to teach.
In 1998, he moved to San Diego and worked for the Franco-American School for two years as a teacher and educational director. He then spent ten years in Singapore at one of the most prestigious French high schools in the AEFE network. While continuing to write for youth media, he also taught and explored youth theatre, collaborating with professional actors and musicians.
From 2010 to 2017, he served as Head of School at the Franco-American School of San Diego in California, developing its bilingual middle school. He specialized in the management, evaluation, and accreditation of international private schools. His school experienced strong growth under his leadership in the competitive context of private U.S. education.
Christian is passionate about language learning, the arts, communication, and cultural discovery. He remains convinced that bilingual and international education promotes essential values such as open-mindedness, tolerance, and respect for others, preparing children for the multicultural world of tomorrow.
