Protecting the lynx: a journey from learning to action

As part of their exciting Animals theme, the Lion and Panda classes have been learning about endangered species, and this term they chose to focus on a particularly fascinating creature: the lynx. The students were immediately captivated by this mysterious wild cat, known for its tufted ears, keen eyesight, and vital role in European ecosystems.

Through captivating stories, engaging research activities, and inspiring discussions, they uncovered the reasons why the lynx is considered endangered and what we can do to protect it. They became highly motivated to contribute to its preservation.

To share their knowledge with the rest of the school community, the children worked together to create an informative video. From drawing illustrations to recording fun facts, each child contributed in their own way. Their video not only highlights important information about the lynx, but also invites the community to join the Lynx fair.

The learning didn’t stop there, though! Motivated by a desire to make a real difference, our CP students decided to support the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). They organised a special “Lynx Fair” during snack time, transforming the playground into a cheerful marketplace. With the help of their teachers and a whole lot of creativity, they prepared delicious homemade cakes and crafted unique lynx-themed items.

Families and classmates jumped at the chance to join in, and the children were thrilled to see so many people supporting their cause. Thanks to their enthusiasm, teamwork, and generosity, the Lynx Fair raised an impressive 123 € for the WWF.

Our young learners should be proud of their commitment to protecting this beautiful endangered animal!
