EBIHS: much more than a school!

At EBIHS, learning doesn’t stop when the bell rings at the end of the school day. The school remains a vibrant place, open to children even outside of school hours. Thanks to a wide range of fun, sporting, and cultural activities, every student can flourish… whether they are enrolled at EBIHS or not!

Wednesday & Holiday Clubs : English during playtime

The Wednesday Club is a recreational activity club hosted by EBIHS, open every Wednesday.

Activities are offered in English by bilingual, qualified instructors with extensive experience working with children. It is a place for children aged 3 to 11 (from preschool to fifth grade) to socialize, learn, and immerse themselves in a bilingual environment. The educational program is primarily based on immersion in English, which allows children to be exposed to the language in a fun environment while participating in a variety of appropriate activities: sports, arts, science, culture, cooking, theater, environmental and nature-related activities, etc. All children from all schools, both monolingual and bilingual, are welcome.

The Holiday Club shares this same approach and operates during school holidays. At least one outing is organized each week to discover new activities and have fun together, such as ice skating, rock climbing, swimming, visiting an educational farm, or even tree climbing.

A comprehensive range of extracurricular activities

Students from kindergarten through middle school have access to a wide range of extracurricular sports and cultural activities that allow each student to deepen their knowledge and develop their curiosity. These activities are offered to EBIHS students after school, Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 6pm on campus, as well as on Wednesdays. The instructors are teachers from the school or outside contributors. There is something for everyone: futsal, stepper, street dance, Zumba, visual arts and floral art, music, theater, but also math and science through play, and of course the discovery of languages such as Spanish and Chinese.

An engaged community: The Apple Tree Parents Association (ATPA)

The ATPA brings together volunteer parents from the three EBIHS schools (preschool, elementary, and secondary school). It works to promote students’ well-being by supporting educational, athletic, and cultural activities, while creating opportunities for the school community to come together.

The ATPA organizes community-building events throughout the year, such as parent coffee mornings and dinners, ski trips, a Christmas party, and a school party at the beginning of summer. Parents also contribute to the well-being and enjoyment of all children by decorating the school for occasions such as Halloween and Christmas, and by funding playground equipment and cultural or sporting outings. The ATPA also coordinates Teacher Appreciation Week, a highlight of the school year that honors the teaching staff. Finally, it acts as a spokesperson for parents to the school administration to ensure ongoing communication.
