Amber Crake

Coordinatrice pédagogique et enseignante au collège : Anglais, Histoire-Géographie et Art.

I am a South African teacher who grew up in the beautiful, cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. I spent much of my youth exploring the Cape mountains and developed a passion for outdoor living. After high school, I studied at the University of Cape Town, completing a degree in psychology followed by a master’s degree in education.

To open up new horizons and gain international experience, I moved to South Korea to teach English to both adults and children in kindergarten. It was a unique and very rewarding experience. After two years there, I returned to South Africa to teach at an international school in Cape Town. I worked there for four years, gaining experience teaching the Cambridge program, as well as the development of didactic materials with a team of very experienced teachers. I also had the opportunity to teach students from all over the world and was exposed to the latest methods in education.

In 2017, I moved to the beautiful city of Annecy with my French companion, sharing the passion for the mountains and discovering the beautiful natural landscapes that the region offers. I have obtained the Cambridge CELTA certificate and continue to teach English to children and adults, while studying French myself. I am a teacher who attaches great importance to the development of students’ innate curiosity and encourages them to be confident in their ability to learn for life.
