Halloween at EBIHS: a celebration of community!
Halloween, an iconic holiday in Anglo-Saxon countries, originated from an ancient Celtic tradition marking the transition from summer to winter, and symbolically from life to death. Once again this year, it was a big hit with EBIHS students! A true moment of sharing, this celebration brings the whole community together in a festive and collaborative spirit.
At EBIHS, school events such as Halloween play an essential role. Much more than just moments of relaxation, they foster team spirit, strengthen camaraderie, and help create a close-knit community. During the week before the fall break, the school was transformed with Halloween decorations: spider webs, pumpkins, and spooky decorations filled the hallways, immersing young and old alike in a mysterious and joyful atmosphere.
The last day before the holidays was marked by a special buzz of excitement: a costume parade and a giant orienteering race for the younger children, a cookie-baking contest and a “mannequin challenge” for the older ones… Not to mention the treats provided by the Parents’ Association! Cheerful mood, collaboration, and creativity were the order of the day.
Now an eagerly anticipated annual event, Halloween at EBIHS reminds us that school is not just about academic learning. It is also a place where creativity, solidarity, and the joy of being together can flourish. These shared moments contribute greatly to the well-being of our students, which is at the heart of our school’s values, and reinforce the sense of belonging that enriches school life at EBIHS.
