Florence Samura

Enseignante anglophone en élémentaire
Originally from Sierra Leone and Liberia, I started learning French from the age of 8. I managed to perfect my French thanks to my schooling in various countries such as Burkina Faso, Guinea, Kenya and finally France. This opportunity allowed me to use my language skills and to discover various worlds and cultures.
From a very young age, I have dreamed of becoming a school teacher, driven by a passion for education, its various methods of transmission, and a deep interest in children. This naturally led me to study education and language sciences.
After three enriching years at Lumière Lyon 2 University, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences, and then I completed my Master’s degree in MEEF (Professions in Teaching, Education, and Training) at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, punctuated by various observation internships in the classroom.
In parallel with my Master’s, I had the opportunity to tutor middle school students and I became involved in after-school programs and extracurricular activities in leisure centers for kids.
For the past three years, I have had the opportunity to work at EBIHS and I have held various positions, mainly as a substitute teacher in both languages. I am also an ESL (English Second Language) teacher, an assistant and a counselor at the school’s Wednesday Club, and it is always a great joy to interact with the children.
My main objective within EBIHS is to continue to transmit the values that are dear to me which is: respect and the quality of human relationships. I also want to inspire children to want to learn English and French in a way that is both educational and fun, help them develop their psychosocial skills, encourage their creativity and strengthen their self-confidence, in order to promote their development within the school environment.
