Clément Jarlov

Enseignant au collège : Mathématiques, Physique, Chimie et Technologie
I was born in Africa, in Zimbabwe and lived a childhood between Africa, America and Asia. I became familiar with the network of international schools as a student at an early age, completing my primary studies in the USA and attending secondary school at the Lycée Français de Singapour where I obtained my scientific baccalaureate. This is where I discovered my passion for science and especially physics, which led me to spend nine years at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland where I obtained my master’s degree in physics and then prepared a doctoral thesis. I stayed in post-doc to finish some research before taking a gap year and working as a college and high school teacher as a volunteer in Belize, Central America. I have also taught at the university level giving courses to EPFL students and overseeing master student projects.
I attach great importance to building a relationship of trust with students, the goal being to motivate them and make them feel confident. At the EBIHS college, it is a very inspired approach of pedagogy in Singapore that I propose, starting from concrete situations to go towards modeling and then abstraction.
During my free time, I am interested in permaculture, music or photography. I also regularly meet my friends in Switzerland to enjoy winter sports.
