Gemma Simmons

Enseignante anglophone en élémentaire
Born in south London to a French mother and an English father, my love for France began at an early age, as I used to come and spend every summer with my French grandmother. Later, when my brother moved to France, I came to join him for skiing, discovering the beautiful mountains that are the Alps, as well as the region and its culture.
From age 11 to 18 I attended a girls’ high school, obtaining the necessary baccalaureate notes to study international business (with French option) at the University of Warwick. The 4-year course included a third year abroad. For me, it was France, more precisely at the Lyon School of Management.
In September 2008, I started training to become a school teacher, specifically to teach mathematics to students aged 11-18. I obtained Qualified Teacher status in June 2009.
Subsequently, for eleven years, I taught mathematics in top secondary schools in south London. During this career, in addition to my responsibility as a teacher, I held various leadership positions, most recently as a trainee teacher trainer and director of newly qualified teacher training.
My passion has always been to ensure best practices in the classroom so that each child progresses and succeeds to the best of their abilities.
