The Butterfly Class Enjoy Frozen Paint!

The children in the Butterfly Class have experienced a sensorial, process art project this week. The children used blocks of frozen paint to create mixes of colours on their paper. The children enjoyed the experience and were exclaiming, ‘c’est froid, c’est froid!’ The activity engaged the children senses and offered them an authentic experience of ice and cold, allowing the English teacher to engage with them using a variety of language. Process art is about exploring materials and techniques without putting on pressure to create a perfect result, the child’s confidence, internal creativity and sense of wonder are all engaged.

It was also very messy!

Camille loved the way the yellow and red looked together.
Léon was shy at first but soon built up the confidence to join in.
Marcus really enjoyed poking the ice as it melted, it crunched under his fingers.
