Squiggle While You Wiggle!

Squiggle while you wiggle!

Each week the Koalas have a session of ‘squiggle while you wiggle’ in the gym. ‘Squiggle while you wiggle’ is a teaching method to develop gross and fine motor skills for writing. First, the children learn a new gross motor skill to music. After using the movement to “dance,” students use the same movement to make marks on paper. Finally, we all discuss which letters use those movements or lines. Not only are these sessions great fun, but they also help the children to be confident and competent mark makers! This week we practised horizontal and vertical lines, check out our pictures below!
