New Garden at Pré de Challes
On Saturday 10th November a group of parents, teachers and children got together to remodel the garden space behind the Pré de Challes school. A design has been created to make an area that is safe, educational and calming for the children to use in the coming years. They created herb beds for a sensorial experience, boxes for vegetables and a living fence to contain an outdoor classroom. They have also planted trees and created an insect friendly area to invite creepy crawlies to the garden to help it grow.
The garden will need some tender loving care over the coming months but once it becomes established it will take care of itself. The garden will be open to all classes to come and use to experience life cycles, the seasons and some fresh air. The benefits of having a green space for children to interact with are well documented and we are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity at EBIHS.
