Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Saturday 25th January was the Lunar New Year for the Chinese and other nationalities who observe this custom. The year 2020 is the year of the Rat.

In the Butterfly Class we celebrated by creating flags and lanterns, exploring the lucky colour red and by inviting one of the student’s mothers into the classroom to discuss the story about how the animals swam a river to compete to have the year named after them. The children also learnt how to say, hello, goodbye and thank you in Chinese.

Happy New Year everyone!
