Jacob Carter

Elementary school teacher (native English speaker)

Born in Norwich (UK), I lived in the UK and France during my childhood. I grew up in a bicultural environment and received both a French and English education. Bilingualism became an integral part of my personality.

I pursued this linguistic richness at university, through a BA in Applied Foreign Languages in French and Spanish, as well as a Masters in French-English Translation at Bangor University in Wales. I wanted to share my love of languages, linguistics, culture and communication through teaching. That’s why, after obtaining the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and several years’ experience teaching English in France, I undertook the PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in the UK, at UCL (University College London).

Through my personal, academic and professional career, I have acquired in-depth knowledge of linguistics and the teaching of English, French and Spanish. I strive to teach in an inclusive way, using a collaborative and discursive approach to promote the independence of every child.
