Anne-Cécile Nicolaï
I was born in Lyon and went to school there in a special music class.
I’ve always been interested in languages and traveling, so I studied German. After my bachelor’s degree, I spent one year in Germany as a French teaching assistant in Secondary School.
Having always wanted to become a school teacher, I took the entrance examination to become a Primary Teacher in the Education Nationale in Paris.
My thesis focused on the benefits of learning foreign languages in Primary School. After graduating, I spent twenty years working for the Education Nationale, where I was able to gain a lot of experience with very different types of students, an experience which highlighted the importance of pedagogical differentiation and the supporting students in gaining autonomy.
I have also worked as a resource teacher in modern languages and as a mentor teacher for future teachers.
Wanting to live closer to nature and, above all, the mountains, my partner and I decided to leave Paris and move to Annecy, despite the fact that this meant leaving the Education Nationale.
However, I am passionate about teaching and didn’t want to give up my teaching career, so I’m very happy to have been able to join EBIHS.
