Christian Jarlov

Treasurer and head of secondary school

Teaching in international French institutions has allowed Christian Jarlov to travel around the world: America, Africa, Middle East and Asia. In Zimbabwe, he founded with his wife Sylvie the first French school, from kindergarten to college, in the capital Harare on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After a short stay in the Middle East, he returned to Africa, to Senegal, where he worked for the Ministry of French Cooperation. In Dakar, he founded the first children’s newspaper in Senegal and worked for the Bayard-Presse group as a journalist and adviser for more than ten years, while continuing to teach.

In 1998, he moved to San Diego and worked for the Franco-American school for two years as a teacher and pedagogical director. Christian then lived in Singapore for ten years, working at one of the most prestigious French high schools in the AEFE network. While pursuing his career in the youth press, he continued to teach and approach youth theatre by working on several projects with professionals, actors and musicians.

From 2010 to 2017, he directed the Franco-American school in San Diego, California and developed his bilingual college.  Specialized in the management, evaluation and accreditation of international private schools. His institution has experienced strong growth under his leadership, in the challenging and competitive environment of private institutions in the US.

Christian is passionate about learning languages, artistic disciplines, communication and discovering other cultures. He remains convinced that an education such as the one offered by bilingual and international institutions emphasizes essential values such as openness, tolerance, respect for others, preparing children for the multicultural world ahead.
